Pilar Vélez is a Colombian writer, poet, and cultural advocate based in Miami, Florida. She writes across multiple genres, including children's literature, poetry, and novels. Her work in children's literature encompasses poetry, theater, and storytelling, as well as a creative writing collection titled Carta a mis sueños, designed to promote a culture of sustainable development. Her writing reflects a deep sensitivity toward social and cultural issues, addressing themes such as migration, identity, and environmental preservation.
As the president of the Hispanic Heritage Literature Organization / Milibrohispano, Pilar has dedicated her career to promoting Hispanic literature and supporting emerging writers. She has received numerous literary awards for her contributions to literature.
