Participants will reflect on their own experiences and knowledge to expand upon their understanding of Dr. Rudine Sims Bishop’s metaphor of “Mirrors, Windows, & Sliding Glass Doors.” They will consider how this concept is rooted in Culturally Responsive Teaching practices and examine its importance in the multilingual classroom. Finally, they will explore some activities, strategies, and resources that can help them facilitate “Mirrors, Windows, & Sliding Glass Doors” in their own classrooms.
